If you are interested in finding an alternative to the IELTS English Test, please see below for details of the English Language Level Test (ELLT) which is offered by the University in association with Oxford International, together with a Preparation Course for the ELLT.
The test and courses on offer are designed for international and European Union students who want to improve their English language skills and familiarise themselves with studying at university before starting their studies.
This includes:
- Students who wish to prepare for university study and have met their English language requirement for their main course at ¿ì»îÊÓƵ
- Students who do not meet the English language entry requirements for their chosen university programme
- Students joining as part of an exchange programme (eg Study Abroad)

English Language Level Test
The English Language Level Test (ELLT) is an alternative to IELTS that provides students with evidence of their English language level for entry into UK universities.
The ELLT is an online, four-step assessment which is designed by Oxford International, with 30 years of experience in teaching English as a second language to international students worldwide.
You can register and pay for the test online, with immediate access to the first three categories which are reading, listening and writing. Once these are completed, you can then book your speaking assessment online.
You must have made an application to study at ¿ì»îÊÓƵ in order to apply for this test.
